WHAT IS THE PARK COMMISSION?

The Park Commission is comprised of seven community members who represent Springfield Township residents in all matters related to the Parks Department mission, which is to enhance each resident’s quality of life and leisure by providing programs and facilities while being committed to the preservation of our natural environment.

Meeting monthly, the Commission provides oversight of the Parks Director, approves the annual Parks & Recreation budget, and collaborates with the Township Board on Master Plan development, property acquisitions, and management of Parks facilities.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT OUR PARKS

Springfield Township is home to some of the most beautiful and ecologically unique areas not just in Michigan, but in the entire world. Our Parks Department, working with Township officials, staff, and members of the community, have done a magnificent job protecting and maintaining these treasures. My goal as a Park Commissioner is to support continued efforts to preserve these irreplaceable natural areas for current and future generations to enjoy.

The Parks Department also provides fantastic educational and recreational programs for children, adults, and families. Hunters Safety, softball, karate, the Easter Egg Hunt, and Halloween events are just a few of the programs my family has benefited from tremendously, and I look forward to supporting the growth and enhancement of these wonderful opportunities for residents and neighbors to learn, grow, and experience exciting new adventures.

  • Board of Directors, Treasurer at ICE Fastpitch (nonprofit girls travel softball organization)

  • Softball coach, multiple teams for ICE Fastpitch and Springfield Township Parks & Recreation
